Herb Foraging Tour
On this tour, you’ll learn about edible wild herbs, their habitats, identification, harvesting, and preservation.
The route is easy to walk and suitable for dogs. Herbs are identified, but not collected for eating. A break with snacks, and herbal discussions will be held in nature.

📍 Location: The excursion location can be chosen: for example, the Yliviitala outdoor area in Alahärmä (Kauhava), the Kitka outdoor area in Kortesjärvi (Kauhava), Vieresniemi in Vimpeli, the Valkealampi area in Lehtimäki (Alajärvi), or Nykälänniemi in Lappajärvi. Other suitable locations can also be suggested.
🕑 Kesto: ~2 hours.
🚶 Difficulty: The route is easy to walk so that everyone can participate.
🧥 Equipment: Participants should wear weather-appropriate outdoor clothing and footwear, waterproof if necessary. In cool weather, it’s good to bring warm clothes as well. If you wish to collect your own plant samples, you can bring paper bags, disposable gloves, scissors, and a breathable basket. A personal plant guidebook is nice to have, but not required..

The tour takes place in off-trail areas, requiring participants to be physically fit. A break with snacks and mushroom discussions will be held in nature.

📍 Location: The excursion location can be chosen: for example, Yliviitala outdoor area in Alahärmä, Kitka outdoor area in Kortesjärvi, Kotkanpesä or Mäenpää areas in Kauhava, Valkealampi area in Lehtimäki (Alajärvi), Hanhivuori area in Lappajärvi, or Pyhävuori-Lakeaharju area in Alajärvi and Vimpeli. Other suitable locations can also be suggested.

🧥 Equipment: Participants should wear weather-appropriate outdoor clothing and shoes, and bring rainproof gear if necessary. In cool weather, it’s advisable to bring extra warm clothing. If you wish to collect mushrooms to take home, you may bring disposable gloves, a mushroom knife, and a breathable basket. A mushroom guidebook is nice to have but not required.

If you wish to collect berries to take home, you may bring a berry container. Berries are picked by hand or with your own berry picker.
